Inspired by the homeowners’ travels through Italy and Europe, this primary bathroom pairs timeless natural materials with thoughtful functionality.
The Design Story
The homeowners wanted their primary bathroom to capture the feeling of the boutique hotels they had fallen in love with while traveling throughout Italy and Europe. Rather than recreating a specific destination, the design draws upon the elegance of natural materials and the sense of escape they experienced abroad.
Although the existing layout remained unchanged, every surface was reimagined to elevate both the experience and functionality of the space. Marble and quartzite introduce richness and depth, while a restrained palette of creams and taupes allows the beauty of each material to take center stage. Patterned tile brings movement and character, creating a striking focal point without overwhelming the room.
Storage had long been one of the homeowners’ greatest frustrations. By incorporating a custom storage tower and making the most of the existing footprint, the renovation transformed the bathroom into a space that feels as practical as it is beautiful.
The result is a primary bathroom that reflects the homeowners’ love of travel while bringing a sense of ease and quiet luxury to their everyday routine.
