Coto Bathroom Retreat

Although the layout of this primary bathroom remained largely unchanged, the room no longer reflected the homeowners or the rest of their home. Rather than focusing on structural renovations, we set out to transform the experience of the space through materials and proportion.

The material palette became the foundation of the design. A dramatic marble countertop established the direction for the room, while large-scale stone slabs create a seamless backdrop in the shower, allowing the natural beauty of the stone to take center stage. Patterned tile introduces movement throughout the space, drawing the eye toward the freestanding tub and creating a natural focal point.

Architectural details helped reshape the room’s character. Trim molding softened walls that had previously felt flat, while oversized mirrors and elongated sconces emphasize the height of the space, making it feel brighter and more expansive. Wall-mounted faucets reinforce the room’s modern character while maintaining clean sightlines across the vanity.

The result is a primary bathroom that feels elevated and inviting. Without altering the footprint, the renovation transformed a dated space into a retreat the homeowners genuinely enjoy.
